“I know” is only the beginning. ACE is here for “Now I understand.” Change starts before the crisis — before a behaviour, there is often a reason we could have noticed sooner.
Awareness & Education
Making mental health information easier to understand, access and apply.
Community Outreach
Taking awareness into schools, workplaces and communities, in person.
Advocacy & Action
Turning what we learn into healthier environments and stronger systems.
Where We Focus Most
Epilepsy awareness and stigma reduction leads everything ACE does.
Epilepsy Awareness & Stigma
Replacing dangerous myths — that epilepsy is contagious or a curse — with accurate understanding and support for those living with it.
Suicide Prevention
Recognising warning signs and knowing when — and how — someone needs help. ACE is not an emergency service; our role is prevention and early connection to care.
Substance-Use Awareness
Understanding risk, prevention and recovery — for individuals and the families around them.
Stress & Breaking Points
Helping people understand what’s happening before everyday pressure becomes a crisis.
Why ACE?
You can know that mental health matters and still miss the signs. The gap is often not the absence of care — it’s the absence of understanding. ACE turns information into understanding, understanding into conversation, and conversation into action.
Awareness that changes what people see, say and do.
A parent responds with understanding instead of shame. A teacher notices a warning sign before it becomes a crisis. A community stops asking “what’s wrong with them?” and starts asking “what happened — and how can we help?”
Meet ACE
ACE is led by practising Ugandan psychiatric clinical officers who bring both professional training and personal motivation to the work — including a founding, personal commitment to breaking the stigma around epilepsy. We don’t speak at communities — we listen, learn and work alongside them.
